With the increase of phishing attempts via email it important to know what constitutes a genuine email from your Office 365 administrator. Unless you are actively dealing with an issue then it is very rare for someone to actually email you to tell you to change your password. A good secure password which is complex does not need to expire or be changed regularly.
If you do click on one of these phishing emails then it will probably take you to a fake site made to look like the normal login screen. One really good way to flag this up to the end user is to apply some custom branding to this screen – that way the generic login screen will look different to the usual screen.
In the Office 365 account you can access the Microsoft Azure back-end and set some branding. You can set the following:
- Sign-in page background – 1920x1080px
- Banner logo – 280x60px
- Username hint
- Sign-in text
- Sign-in page background colour
- Square logo image 240x240px
Not only does this look pretty, but it gives your users the reassurance that they are logging onto the correct site. Please get in touch if you need us to implement this for you.
